JRebel Enterprise Adds Automatic Configuration Tool for Kubernetes Environments

Perforce Software has announced a new feature for JRebel Enterprise designed to automate configuration management in Kubernetes-based development environments.
The tool automatically detects dynamic containers and eliminates manual configuration for Java teams working in Kubernetes deployments, according to the Aug. 21, 2025, announcement.
JRebel Enterprise tackles what Perforce describes as a persistent challenge in Java development: the time-consuming redeployment process required when pushing code changes to cloud environments.
According to Perforce's 2025 Java Developer Productivity Report, 73% of enterprise respondents use cloud-based or remote development environments, creating complications for traditional development tools.
Jeff Michael, senior director of product management at Perforce, told The New Stack that DevOps environments are maturing rapidly due to evolving business needs, adding complexity to development and testing environments.
The traditional JRebel approach requires developers to manually configure agents on static deployment servers. In containerized, Kubernetes-driven environments where containers start and stop based on workload demands, this manual process creates difficulties, particularly when developers need to create separate environments for bug fixes, Michael said.
JRebel Enterprise manages these complexities by automatically detecting container environments and seamlessly pushing code changes without requiring rebuilds and redeployments, the company said.
Perforce is a software development tools company based in Minnesota with development operations in Tallinn, Estonia.
