Canonical and CoreSpace Partner to Provide 'One-Stop Shop' for Private Clouds

Canonical, U.K.-based publisher of the Ubuntu Linux distribution, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider CoreSpace this week announced a partnership aimed at making it easier for organizations to set up, customize, and manage private clouds.

By combining Canonical's Charmed OpenStack and Charmed Kubernetes technology with CoreSpace’s infrastructure and colocation capabilities, the two companies are creating an end-to-end solution that Mark Wulff, CoreSpace founder and COO, calls "a one-stop shop that offers organizations an enterprise-strength private cloud without having to spend big enterprise dollars."

"By working with us, customers can have a mini-AWS or Azure that provides everything they need to derive huge value from private clouds," Wulff said in a statement, "with none of the headaches, and that can grow with them."

Dallas, TX-based CoreSpace offers fully-managed OpenStack, Kubernetes, and cloud solutions. The company specializes in providing clients with high-performance, flexible, "future-proof "infrastructure.

OpenStack is one of the most widely used open-source solutions for building public and private clouds. Canonical's Charmed OpenStack provides full automation around OpenStack deployments and operations. The company's Charmed Kubernetes is a distro built on Ubuntu that provides a curated set of tools for building Kubernetes clusters from the ground up and delivering "containers as a service" across the enterprise.

With this alliance, CoreSpace becomes Canonical’s first cloud delivery partner in the United States.

Canonical and CoreSpace are hosting a webinar on the new offering.

Ubuntu is complete Linux operating system developed by the founders of Canonical. It has both community and professional support. The community is built on ideas put forth in the Ubuntu Manifesto, which, in a nutshell, are that software should be available free of charge, that software tools should be usable by people in their local language and despite any disabilities, and that people should have the freedom to customize and alter their software in whatever way they see fit.
