Kumulos, known for its mobile app management platform, has added in-app messaging to its marketing automation solution, joining the existing push notifications functionality as another means of communication.
Citing statistics that indicate that mobile marketers who use in-app messaging can see a 30 percent increase in app launches and a four-times increase in app retention, Kumulos said such messaging can help with:
- Boosting conversion through the on-boarding journey
- Highlighting special offers
- Asking users to rate an app
- Subscribing to receive push notifications
"For maximum effect, push notifications and in-app messaging can be combined," the company said. "With Kumulos, once configured, you can send unlimited push notifications and in-app messages to app users on both iOS and Android devices. You can use segments, channels, geofences and beacons to target your audience, trigger automations and schedule campaigns."
The marketing automation solution is part of the company's main mobile app management platform, which, in addition to messaging and push notifications, offers:
- App store optimization (ASO)
- App analytics and reporting
- Backend hosting (mBaaS)
- Crash reporting
- API endpoint monitoring
A Compose Wizard leads users through the five-step process to send in-app messages, ranging from selecting an audience to a final review.
"Getting started with Kumulos in-app messaging couldn’t be easier!" the company said. "Once you’ve integrated an SDK and one or more users has opted in to receive in-app messages, you can send in-app messages from Kumulos console. Your client can also send in-app messages from their client portal if you have enabled this for them."
