Top 3 Dev Skills Needed: React, Python, JavaScript

According Hacker News' April 2018 Hiring Trends analysis (based on the language in the candidates-wanted postings on its Web site), the three top skills desired were React and Python (same as last month), with JavaScript moving into spot No. 3 (was fourth last montth).

These skills were followed by Amazon Web Services (which fell from third to fourth), full stack (which rose to fifth from seventh) and machine learning (which rose from sixth to eighth).

Here's April's top 10:

  3. JavaScript
  4. AWS
  5. Full Stack
  6. Machine Learning
  7. Postgresql
  8. node.js
  9. golang
  10. DevOps

The results can also be sorted by "Rising," in which case the blockchain protocol Ethereum ranks first, followed by Kotlin, Hive, blockchain in general and then Vue.

The top five "falling" skills in April 2018 were Mesos, CoffeeScript, OpenStack, Bootstrap and Sidekiq.
