nVision Software released yesterday an enterprise continuous-availability app called AppVision-CA. It's the first enterprise app to use symbionts, which extend the functionality of Java and Microsoft .NET runtime environments.
Java and Microsoft .NET lack the specialized functionality needed for high-availability, high-performance, business-critical applications, nVision says. Software symbionts can be used to add continuous-availability features, performance-optimization features, high-level security features or compliance features directly into an app environment without the need for custom coding, nVision says.
According to the company, AppVision-CA adds services for error event management, diagnostics, notification, recovery and custom error handling. In addition, it gives IT managers a unified view of an app's health across the enterprise, nVision says.
