Company Launches Natural Language Processing Platform for Edge Computing

This week, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Sensory announced the "first full-feature release" of TrulyNatural, its speech recognition and processing platform for embedded systems.

What makes TrulyNatural special, the company states, is the platform's natural language processing (NLP) features on a small, secure footprint. Designed for edge computing, it's ideal for a wide variety of uses that require fast and reliable NLP but that also have security and privacy concerns.

TrulyNatural runs 100 percent on the processor and does not send any data back to the cloud. "TrulyNatural does not require any data to leave the device and eliminates the privacy risks associated with sending voice data to the cloud, and as an added benefit it allows product manufacturers to own the customer relationship and experience," commented Todd Mozer, CEO at Sensory, in a prepared statement announcing the release.

According to the company, TrulyNatural can be used for everything from automobile consoles to industrial applications to mobile apps.

"TrulyNatural can be as small as under 10MB in a natural language and large vocabulary setting, but it can also be scaled to support broad-domain applications like virtual assistants and call center chatbots with a virtually unlimited vocabulary," the company explained.
