Mobile Performance Firm HeadSpin Adds Testing Functionality

HeadSpin, a mobile performance management specialist, announced a new suite of tools that incorporates new testing functionality gained in a company acquisition.

The company is known for its Mobile Performance Platform (MPP) that helps mobile developers debug, test and optimize for user experience and performance under real-world conditions.

Recently it announced the new tools suite called Mobile Performance Management, designed to give mobile teams detailed visibility into performance issues for mobile apps and sites.

The offering bakes in technology acquired in a buyout application performance testing company NimbleDroid.

Specifically, HeadSpin said Mobile Performance Management can help developers:

  • Identify the root causes of mobile app or Web site client-side, client-server and third-party (network, SDK, API and so on) issues
  • Leverage AI to prioritize root cause performance issues from largest to smallest time impact
  • Reproduce performance issues instantly and repeatedly using session video that correlates to user session traffic

On its Functional Testing site, the firm says it provides real-world remote and automated testing on more than 22,000 SIM-enabled devices in more than 150 global locations connected to carrier networks.

Now, HeadSpin said, that testing is enhanced with NimbleDroid technology that addressed functional performance testing for Android and iOS apps.

HeadSpin said NimbleDroid's founders "come from a very technical background and fully understand the pains that developers experience when working in a mobile environment."

Enterprise customers can avail themselves of the new product immediately, HeadSpin said in an announcement last month.
