Enterprise Java software company Payara announced the launch of Payara Qube, a cloud-native platform designed to automate Java application deployment and reduce Kubernetes management complexity for enterprise customers.
The platform targets organizations seeking to modernize Java applications without extensive infrastructure management overhead. Payara Qube provides pre-configured Kubernetes environments and automation tools for Jakarta EE, Spring, and Quarkus applications.
"We've automated the most time-consuming and technically complex parts of cloud modernization," said Steve Millidge, Payara's founder and CEO. The platform handles Kubernetes setup, ingress management, and monitoring to allow development teams to focus on application development.
The offering includes integrated observability tools, security controls through access management, and configuration management with change tracking. Payara positioned the platform as suitable for regulated industries requiring compliance controls and data sovereignty.
The company highlighted compatibility with existing Java applications, allowing organizations to deploy legacy systems alongside new applications without requiring code refactoring or staff retraining.
Payara also announced integration opportunities with Azul's Platform Prime Java runtime. Gil Tene, Azul's co-founder and chief technology officer, said the combination "removes infrastructure and deployment friction" while optimizing runtime performance.
The London-based company will demonstrate Payara Qube at its Virtual Payara Conference scheduled for July 8. Organizations can request demonstrations through the company's website.
Payara competes in the enterprise Java platform market alongside vendors such as Red Hat, IBM, and Oracle, focusing on cloud-native deployment solutions for large organizations.
