OutSystems Partners for Industry-Specific Low-Code Tools

As the low-code development tool space has evolved from rudimentary -- and perhaps somewhat gimmicky -- offerings to valuable enterprise stalwarts, OutSystems has taken the next step, partnering to deliver industry-specific solutions.

Low-code leader OutSystems entered into a collaboration with IG&H, a consultancy headquartered in the Netherlands, in which that company will deploy the OutSystems platform targeting digital transformation projects in the financial, retail and healthcare markets.

According to a Jan. 18 statement, IG&H considered all current application development platforms before it chose to deploy the OutSystems low-code platform to help customers realize their digital agendas going forward. The firms announced IG&H will use the OutSystems platform as an in-house solution for replacing existing legacy systems and developing additional functionality, aiming for a short time to market.

That shortened time to market is enabled via the low-code (aka DIY, RAD and so on) development approach -- typically using visual workflows, wizards, drag-and-drop development and so on -- used by OutSystems and other low-code vendors.

"OutSystems is today's most advanced low-code platform and is rated highly by analysts," said Mark Boerekamp, Partner Digital Technology at IG&H. "The platform is a perfect match with the sectors' desire to realize high-quality technical solutions faster, meeting the customers' wishes and expectations. We have every confidence that alongside OutSystems, we will be able to better guide new and existing clients in their digital transformation."
