In brief: HP-Red Hat deal and more
HP, Red Hat deal -- Computer maker Hewlett-Packard (HP) Co. and Linux
specialist Red Hat have signed a deal making HP a preferred vendor for
the Red Hat Enterprise Linux product line. This marks a major step
forward in enterprise computing for Red Hat, and a further embrace of
open-source Linux by HP. The new agreement also details further
collaboration between the two companies across their respective global
services organizations. As well, Red Hat has "Premier Alliance
Partnerships" with competing hardware makers IBM and Dell.
LogiGear Web app tracks bugs -- LogiGear Corp. recently upgraded its
TrackGear product for distributed software development teams. TrackGear
3.5 offers automated rule-based escalation, enabling the customization
of triggering events.
Learning system reaches Plateau -- Plateau Systems' effort to support
J2EE bore fruit recently as the company gained major J2EE platform
certification for its Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS). The
LMS has been certified to support BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Oracle
9iAS and SunONE. Plateau's software provides the infrastructure to
manage all of an organization's learning and knowledge, and enhance
its intellectual supply chain.
