Bamboo Agile Tool Offers Continuous Deployment

Altassian recently announced an upgrade of its Bamboo continuous integration server with new features such as "continuous deployment into the build process for Agile teams."
Other new features of Bamboo 3.0 include a new graphical user interface, sharing of artifacts, improved integration with Altassian's JIRA issue tracker and support for the Git and Mercurial distributed version control products, Altassian said in a news release.
The company said its continuous integration server helps development teams automate build processes and conduct testing. It was the first such tool to use Amazon's cloud-based EC2 service to help scale large builds.
While previous versions of Bamboo had helped with rigorous testing, developers were still left with the difficult task of deployment, the company said. Now, with the new focus on automating deployment and release processes, "Bamboo allows teams to map their complete deployment process, starting with building the software to deploying software into a testing or even production environment," Altassian said.
