Software companies continue to build alliances to further SOA (service-oriented architecture) environments at the enterprise level. Here are a few announcements to date.
Mindreef Inc. and ZapThink LLC have combined forces to help companies with their SOA implementations. The partnership deal combines Mindreef's SOAPscope Server and solutions with ZapThink's integration advice. Part of the service involves providing SOA councils or a center of excellence to focus on fulfilling an enterprise's business objectives. The companies also will provide design-time governance at the outset to build SOA applications with quality assurance. A third objective is to build trust among an enterprise's departments to facilitate the reuse of services.
SOA Software has integrated its Web services security and governance solution with Red Hat's JBoss Enterprise Middleware, an open-source platform for creating Web applications and services. The partnership adds SOA Software's Service Manager and WorkBench products, which help to manage enterprise application development in an SOA environment.
GT Software's rapid development platform for Web services has passed the technical and business requirements specified in IBM's SOA Specialty partnership program. GT's Ivory Service Architect suite now officially integrates with the IBM SOA Foundation application server. The integration effort gains GT better collaboration with IBM's SOA marketing and sales efforts.
MQSoftware completed the necessary steps to integrate its business transaction and monitoring solution with IBM's SOA platform. MQSoftware's Q Nami software passed IBM's SOA Specialty business requirements to work with the IBM SOA Foundation application server.
An educational Web site about SOA has been unfurled by Hurwitz & Associates and LiquidHub, an IT consultancy. The new SOA Universe site plans to offer educational workshops and technical training on SOA. The Web site was developed, in part, by the authors of the SOA for Dummies book.
