Vendors Boost SOA Offerings via Partnerships

The last week of February saw a number of partnerships and product rollouts in the SOA space. Here are some of the week’s announcements.

Fujitsu and Seagull: Fujitsu Computer Systems and Seagull Software cemented a CentraSite partnership deal. CentraSite is the SOA registry and repository developed by Fujitsu and Software AG. CentraSite is now integrated with Seagull’s LegaSuite product, which lets companies use their legacy applications via Web services. It supports IBM mainframes, ICL mainframes, iSeries, UNIX/VT and Windows client/server platforms.

SOA Software and Systar: SOA Software, which provides SOA management, security and governance solutions, has boosted its offerings to enterprise customers by partnering with Systar. The deal adds Systar’s business activity monitoring software to SOA Software’s product suite. Systar is a provider of business activity monitoring solutions to major banking institutions.

Rogue Wave and seeMore: Rogue Wave Software has provided its service data objects (SDO) component as part of seeMore Technologies’ Virtual Database Server technology. seeMore integrated Rogue Wave’s HydraSDO component to better handle disparate data sources in an SOA framework.

Ramco Systems: Ramco Systems rolled out a suite of SOA-based enterprise products. Its new Business Process Delivery System includes business-modeling capabilities, as well as a business services repository. The suite includes a library of 1,000 preconfigured services. It also provides a tool for analyzing business applications performance.

LogicLibrary: LogicLibrary is offering its new Logidex 5.0 for .NET product. The SOA solution for enterprises provides added support for Microsoft Visual studio 2005 Team Foundation Server. Logidex 5.0 for .NET adds service consumption governance and ROI measurement capabilities. The product works with Eclipse, IBM WebSphere Studio, IBM Rational Application Developer, Software Modeler and Software Architect, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Borland JBuilder and SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

Attachmate Corporation: A new product from Attachmate allows legacy applications to be transformed into SOA-based solutions. The company’s Verastream Host Integrator 6.5 works with mainframe and other host systems to deliver Web services, XML, Java and .NET components that can be mixed and reused. The solution supports Microsoft Vista and the latest Java application standards. It runs on middle-tier platforms such as Microsoft Windows 2003, UNIX and Linux, as well as on mainframes.

Software AG: A free edition of Software AG’s Crossvision Application Designer solution is available at the company’s Web site for noncommercial development of SOA applications. The solution lets users develop AJAX (asynchronous Java + XML) applications for browsers. The applications can be deployed across a number of Java application servers, such as Tomcat, JBoss, IBM WebSphere and BEA Weblogic.
