1105 Media’s Redmond Media Group Announces Redmond Developer News Magazine

Chatsworth/Irvine, CA - August 15, 2006 – This fall 1105 Media’s Redmond Media Group will launch its third magazine in less than two years with the debut of Redmond Developer News.

Microsoft is in the midst of its largest product launch ever, including a new desktop operating system, server operating system, new Office suite and a revolutionary set of software development tools. Taken together, these represent nothing short of a total software revolution.

Helping to drive this software revolution is Redmond Developer News, a brand new publication from 1105 Media’s award-winning Redmond Media Group (RMG). This new magazine and Web site focus exclusively on news and product coverage serving Corporate Development Managers working with Microsoft tools and technologies.

The magazine will be led by industry veteran and current RMG Editorial Director, Doug Barney, who will serve as Editor in Chief. “Tomorrow’s software will look, feel and act completely different from today’s programs. We’ll see amazing new interfaces, fast and flexible Web services, unparalleled ease of use, and seamless integration with data and other bits of software wherever they reside. Redmond Developer News readers, by creating these new applications, are truly the brains behind this revolution,” said Barney.

Launching with a November 2006 cover date, the magazine will enter the market monthly and then increase frequency to bi-weekly in early 2007.

With an initial rate base of 25,000 readers, Redmond Developer News is aimed squarely at corporate and enterprise development management and high-level internal developers. Because this community is focused largely on building and maintaining applications for the Windows desktop and server environments, Redmond Developer News focuses exclusively on Microsoft and third-party tools for writing Windows software. Competitive platforms are covered purely from the standpoint of integration with Windows, or their viability as an alternative.

Redmond Developer News readers make the key decisions on what applications to develop, how they will be deployed, and what development tools are to be used. Readers include:  Executive/C-Level Development Managers, Senior Development Managers, Departmental Development Managers, Senior Application Development Specialists. These leaders establish and drive the key internal development projects, buy and recommend specific development solutions to achieve these goals, and manage the implementation, integration and maintenance of the technology.

The editorial mission is to give influential readers insight into Microsoft’s plans, and news on the latest happenings and products in the Windows development marketplace. Redmond Developer News will be the book of record for new products in the Microsoft development space.

This is the third magazine launch in less than two years for the Redmond Media Group. In October of 2004 the group launched Redmondmagazine as a re-branding of Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine. Redmondmagazine was a 2005 Maggie award winner for Best Computer Publication. In July of 2005 RMG entered the Microsoft channel market with Redmond Channel Partner magazine, which was honored with the 2006 Jesse H. Neal award for best start-up publication.

Redmond Developer News represents the continued commitment RMG has to all facets of the Microsoft market. “We have always strived to provide critical and vital information related to all aspects of the Microsoft market and now with the launch of Redmond Developer News, we will have the entire Microsoft computing spectrum covered” said Redmond Media Group Publisher Henry Allain.
