Prestigious Award Recognizes Successful Implementation of Innovative
Applications
CHATSWORTH, Calif.—October 31, 2005—Application
Development Trends (ADT), a leading software trade industry publication,
today issued a call for entries for the 12th Annual Innovator Awards competition.
These awards honor IT teams who have implemented unique application development
and deployment projects to solve pressing business problems. The deadline for
all entries is December 15, 2005.
“Past award winners have demonstrated why software is the single most
valuable component of a company’s IT infrastructure,” said Peter
Hutchinson, publisher, ADTs. “Any investment in hardware can
be duplicated--everyone can buy the same computers, networks, and peripherals.
But no two companies use the same software. Corporate software embodies and
leverages unique market knowledge and unique ways of doing business. Software
innovators are market leaders,” continued Hutchinson.
The Innovator Awards competition is open to all corporate development organizations.
Awards are presented in six categories: middleware/application integration,
component-based development, application engineering, e-business application
development, open-source development, and data warehousing. The 2005 winners
were Aeroplan, Freddie Mac, Towers Perrin, California Department of Motor Vehicles,
www.1up.com, and Owens Corning.
“If there is one attribute that all Innovator Award winners share, it’s
that they are not content to maintain the status quo, even when their systems
are working as well as planned,” said Michael Alexander, editor-in-chief.
“Instead, they look at the processes they’ve implemented and ask,
‘How can we make them better?’ ”
The entries are judged by ADT editors and a team of consultants at
ADT’s partner, Keane, a premier business and IT services company
since 1965. This year, winners will be profiled in the April 2006 issue of ADT.
