On Monday, Software AG cut the ribbon to its new North American SOA Competency
Center, which it says will help orgs understand how SOAs, within their environment,
implement SOA and measure results. The company says it assists businesses reduce
the time and cost of implementing SOA.
Key elements of the SOACC include a 2-day analysis of an organization's business
goals and systems to help determine if the SOA approach is a good fit; a readiness
assessement; planning and design services; and an assessment of how well the
SOA performs compared to business objectives.
The SOACC applies open systems standards to the creation of an SOA, and therefore
is compatible with a wide range of products and technologies from a variety
of vendors, according to Software AG.
In addition, the company says in a prepared statement, when an organization
uses Software AG's XML Business Integration products (Enterprise Process Manager,
Service Integrator and Information Integrator) as the foundation of its SOA,
CentraSite becomes the system of record for all SOA metadata originating from
those products - providing visibility into the interdependencies between processes,
information views, services and service orchestrations, and promoting reuse
and management within the SOA. For more information on the SOACC and CentraSite,
