The Oracle Applications Users Group and Quest form Fusion Council
OAUG, the Oracle apps users group, and Quest International Users Group, an
association for PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards users, have formed the Fusion Council,
which will provide users of Oracle's Fusion software with an educational tool
and forum for learning more about the middleware and act as a bridge between
users and Oracle to add in the development of Fusion.
Oracle Fusion Middleware is the newly created brand for Oracle's family of
existing middleware products, consisting of several components, including a
Java application server, a Web portal, BI software, data hubs, ESBs and Oracle's
Collaboration suite for e-mail and Web conferencing. The software is based on
Java and Web services standards, which will make it easier for customers to
modify Oracle programs and share information with non-Oracle-based systems,
according to Oracle.
The Fusion Council will consist of members representing all Oracle Applications,
J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft users. The council's responsibilities include working
with Oracle to educate users about the product and its modules, facilitating
user feedback in the product's development, assisting users during the installation
of Fusion, collaborating with Oracle to establish and publish required industry
and product-specific information and conducting quality testing for Oracle as
needed.
"The Fusion Council will be a broad-based organization made up of members
from a wide range of industries and geographic locations," says Fred Pond,
president of Quest. "Participating in the council is a great way to have
a direct impact on the development of future Fusion modules."

Oracle to provide enhanced levels of service and learning opportunities for
the Oracle community," adds Patricia Dues, president of the OAUG. "The
council is a benefit to both users and Oracle Corp. because it provides users
with advanced educational opportunities and offers Oracle the ability to gain
feedback from the company's customers."

of experience with ERP applications, above-average knowledge of ERP requirements
and have experience dealing with ERP development teams and the current supportable
release of ERP applications.
Once members of the Fusion Council have been selected, they will meet during
the collaborative conferences of the OAUG and Quest on June 13-16, at the Gaylord
Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
