[PROGRAMMERS REPORT -Sept 24, 2002] - Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs group has joined the authentication software
fray with network security software known as Factotum and Secure Store. Secure
Store acts as a repository for an individual's personal information, while
Factotum serves as an agent that handles authentication on the user's behalf. It
is of interest because users can control their personal information via the
system, which was described at this summer's USENIX Security Conference in San
Francisco ... ej-technologies, GmbH has launched JProfiler 2.1 offering CPU,
memory and thread performance views for Java developers. The tool covers
WebLogic, WebSphere, Sun ONE, Oracle 9i and Apache Tomcat servers, and includes
JVM telemetry graphing ... Oracle said Rational's Rose Professional J UML
environment now supports Oracle 9i ... The Mind Electric has released Glue 3.0
for creating SOAP-based Web services, servlets and JSPs. The company claims
performance gains vs. Apache Axis.
