Updated Globo Mobile Platform Supports iOS 9 Development

Globo, a specialist in enterprise mobility management (EMM), announced full support of Apple's new iOS 9 in its application development tooling and other mobile products.

iOS 9, released just about a month ago, is already being used by half of its EMM users with Apple devices, the company said. In addition to iOS 9 support in its EMM platform, Globo said its GO!AppZone mobile application development platform (MADP) supports the new OS, incorporating new security features. That product targets line-of-business managers doing rapid, cross-platform app development.

"Security enhancements from Globo's iOS 9 update include strengthening device passwords and new restriction options for automatic app downloads, Apple News, iCloud Photo libraries, AirDrop, keyboard shortcuts, screen recording, Apple Watch pairing and user modifications to the device name, passcode and wallpaper," the company said in a statement Tuesday. "Mobile app management updates to support iOS 9 include empowering IT to block side-loading apps from outside the App Store, and seamlessly transitioning pre-installed apps by end-users into managed apps suitable for the enterprise."

Also being updated for Apple's newest mobile OS is the company's mobile design and development suite, Sourcebits App Fuel, which stems from last year's acquisition of the Sourcebits agency. It targets mobile app startups, providing UI/UX design prototypes, investor pitch packages, development services and product management.

"Apple's latest release offers several new features and enhancements that are going to help IT, app developers, and line-of-business managers in achieving their business objectives. Last month, Apple said iOS 9 was "off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple's history."
