CodeGear Releases Delphi for PHP 2.0

CodeGear last week released a new version of Delphi for PHP, an integrated development environment designed for "rapidly building interactive Web applications using visual drag-and-drop design capabilities," according to the company.

CodeGear said that the new version of the IDE offers several improvements, including "comprehensive and seamless" support for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2 and several other databases "without requiring database connectivity coding."

Other new features include support for the Zend Framework, embedded dynamic PHP HTML templates and improved debugging, the company said.

"With version 2.0, we are raising the bar in every area with faster performance across the board and a wide array of new productivity, debugging, and performance tuning features and much broader ‘out-of-the-box’ support for databases and popular PHP packages and libraries," commented CodeGear's Vice President of Products Michael Swindell in a released statement.

CodeGear is selling Delphi for PHP 2.0 for an "introductory price" of $249 through June, with updates for $179. Discounts are available for volume purchases and education customers. More information on the new version can be found here.
