Microsoft this week posted several new downloads for developers working with
Visual Studio Team System 2008 and Visual Basic.
One of the downloads, Visual
Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition Power Tools, offers new features, including data-generator wizard, refractory types and test conditions. It also includes customer-requested features, such as command-line SQL static code analysis
execution through MSBuild, according to the company's Web site and blogs.
Another download is beta
software that corrects a problem that Visual Studio 2008 has when connecting to the
SQL Server 2008 community technology preview (CTP) released in November. The
issue does not appear to affect the newest SQL Server 2008 CTP, released
Tuesday.
For Visual Basic users, Microsoft released version 3.0 of its Visual
Basic Power Packs. This release features Data Repeater control and better
Windows Form printing, among others.
Visual Basic 6.0 users may also want to download a new Visual Basic 6.0 Service
Pack 6 security
update, posted earlier this month.
