Apache releases Geronimo 1.0 Java server

The Apache Software Foundation has released Apache Geronimo 1.0, its Java app server. Geronimo, which has been under development for 30 months, is the foundation's open-source alternative to Java 2 Enterprise Edition 1.4 app servers.
