Sun Microsystems offers developers Sun Studio 11 at no cost

Earlier this month, Sun released the Sun Studio 11 development suite at no cost to developers.

The latest enhancements made to Sun Studio 11 include an advanced graphical debugger and a suite of performance analysis tools that simplifies the development process for most sophisticated C, C++ and Fortran programming needs.

According to Sun, Studio 11 compilers are optimized for developing scalable 32-bit and 64-bit apps on multi-core and multithreaded systems, including Sun's newest UltraSPARC T1 processors with CoolThreads technology and x64 (x86, 64-bit) Sun Fire systems running on Solaris 10.

The benefit for developers is higher productivity using fewer resources when deploying these demanding applications into production.

Sun Studio 11 is available, with the multilingual version to be delivered within the next 60 days. For more info visit: http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio11.
