WealthEngine.com pursues process integration

WealthEngine.com has chosen Metaserver Inc. software to integrate the various data sources used in identifying and screening prospects for charities and non-profit groups. Formerly known as Prospects of Wealth & Resources Inc., WealthEngine.com is a 13-year-old company that tracks individuals with high net worth, according to Tony Glowacki, company president.

Metaserver integration software uses peer-to-peer technology and a Process Integration Engine to allow non-sequential communication between back-end enterprise applications. Included in the software solution is a visual modeling environment targeted at non-programmers. Metaserver was spun off from LINDA distributed computing pioneer Scientific Computing Associates (SCA) in 1996.

There are numerous means to integrate processes today, so how did WealthEngine.com come to this solution? "We were an Oracle DB shop. We knew of the complexity of lots of different data feeds and different systems," said Glowacki. He said the company looked at 'front-end solutions,' among which he included software from Vignette.

Many times, IT pays a lot of money to have high-priced developers spend a lot of time talking with end users. With the Metaserver software, Glowacki said, "a fairly functional person can model a technical environment and integrate data sources."
