[MARCH 21, 2002] - Putnam Investments has signed an agreement to install data navigation and analytics technology from Endeca Technologies Inc., Cambridge, Mass., to boost its customer service operation.
Endeca, a privately held maker of infrastructure software for enterprise business analytics, said Putnam plans to use applications based on Endeca's Navigation Engine toolset to "extend business insights through more rapid and thorough understanding of large customer and product data stores." Endeca's analytic infrastructure is said to provide comprehensive access to data, as well as advanced ad hoc query and reporting solutions.
Putnam officials said the firm plans to utilize the technology for both internal and external users, by allowing information access and delivery from a variety of data sources.
