Compuware adding .NET support

Compuware Corp. will use the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference stage this week to unveil its strategy for adding .NET support to its product and services offerings.

Compuware officials said the plan calls for extending its development, testing, production readiness and performance management products to support Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, the .NET Framework and the .NET Enterprise Servers. Most of the upgraded products will be previewed this week at the PDC conference in Los Angeles.

The Compuware Professional Services organization has already begun assisting enterprises with the development of Microsoft .NET applications, Compuware officials said.

"We are very excited about the Microsoft .NET platform and its ability to develop enterprise applications and XML Web services," said Kevin Cowsill, Compuware senior vice president of technology. "We will continue to work closely with Microsoft to ensure that our products fully support the.NET platform."

"Major enterprises are adopting the Microsoft .NET platform to develop and deploy XML Web services and enterprise applications," said Tom Button, vice president of developer tools at Microsoft Corp. "Compuware is uniquely positioned to deliver the staffing and products to enable these enterprises to accelerate the development of .NET applications."
