Data Intensity Offers One-Stop Shop for Cloud-Based Analytics

Data Intensity LLC today announced cloud-based software designed to serve as a one-stop shop for data analytics and business intelligence (BI).

Called Analytics1, the new offering is targeting mid-size and large enterprises facing common obstacles to successful data analytics initiatives. Company president John Bostick said those obstacles concern complexity, capacity and capability.

In addressing complexity, Analytics1 provides a single solution that's easy to buy, use and manage, as opposed to disparate components spread out in complex datacenter architectures, the company said. On the other end, newer approaches that simplify such complex systems can go too far the other way, making them less effective because they can't be customized for an organization's specific requirements.

"Analytics1 eliminates the barriers to constructive data analysis, creating a single cloud-based environment, leveraging state-of-the-art tools, that delivers the performance, security and availability companies expect from an enterprise-class solution," said company CTO Marc Caruso in a statement today.

The company said Analytics1 provides two main groups of services: BI and analytics; and application and database management. The BI and analytics services include visualization services supporting technologies such as Tableau Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle BI Server and Oracle BI applications.

To help with those technologies, an Analytics Services Desk, or "Quant-on-Demand," provides expert help from a team of data scientists who are familiar with an organization's environment and industry. Available on a predictable, monthly basis to help companies facing a long-lasting data analytics skills shortage, "these professionals perform job roles equivalent to a data architect; BI/ETL architect or developer; or SQL developer in your organization," the company said.

Data Intensity's application management services support Informatica PowerCenter and Cloud, Oracle Data Integrator and SQL Server Integration Services, while database management services support Tableau and the other aforementioned BI/analytics technologies, along with MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB and DB2.

Combined, the managed services: monitor, maintain and analyze an organization's database and data warehouse infrastructure, maintaining data integrity, monitoring and executing extract, transform and load (ETL) processes; execute routine infrastructure processes and Master Data Management processes; and troubleshoot errors in data and infrastructure. The company will also conduct a quarterly customer architecture performance and recommendation review.

"When looking to launch our enterprise analytics platform, we recognized that having a single private cloud for both data storage and analytics provided many benefits over solutions that are spread across data centers and providers," the company quoted customer Eric Duell at The E.W. Scripps Company as saying. "We have our data, tools and analytics applications all in one place, and Data Intensity manages the environment for us -- from licenses, to new installs, to patching and upgrades -- all on a fixed monthly budget."

Data Intensity said that fixed monthly budget starts at $10,000 per month, with customization and scope designed for an enterprise's specific needs.
