Here's a quick look at some of the newest Agile-related products hitting the market:
- Mendix this week announced version 3.0 of its Agile Business Platform, featuring a centralized, cloud-based monitoring and management dashboard to track and control application performance and activities. The platform-as-a-service offering also features a cloud-based Team Server that will help teams of any size, from a single developer to large teams distributed around the globe, Mendix said in a news release. The new product comes soon after the company's beta launch of its sprintr site, described as a melding of social collaboration and Agile project management. Users can request an invite to the sprintr beta program here.
- CollabNet has released its ScrumWorks Pro 5.0 Agile project management software. It features an upgraded Web user interface, a more modern look and feel and improved scalability and speed, the company said. The Web UI has been completely redesigned, CollabNet said, with every desktop client function now available in the browser-based management tool. It also better supports larger and widely dispersed teams through "enhanced transparency and continuous metrics that enable developers to adapt quickly and to easily manage requirements, set priorities and track their work." Users can download the software and free 10-user licenses.
- Zero Wait-State this week introduced its Agile PLM Upgrade Express, described as an automated, streamlined way for customers to upgrade their Oracle Agile PLM solutions. The company said the product simplifies a complex upgrade process typically handled by consulting services, reducing an upgrade's time commitment and cost: "Leveraging a sophisticated Web backbone and a virtual environment, clients can upload information and preview the results before they even commit to actually upgrading their system."
