Salesforce.com extends on-demand service

Salesforce.com is launching a new level of service designed to allow customers to extend their on-demand apps across the enterprise. The new service, called Unlimited Edition, gives customers the ability to run their entire enterprise on The Business Web, including support for custom-developed or third-party apps deployed via salesforce.com's AppExchange on-demand platform.

"Unlimited Edition was developed in response to our customers' rapid expansion of their Salesforce deployments across the entire enterprise, through the adoption and deployment of applications from the AppExchange," says Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "This is a fulfillment of our vision of The Business Web, enabling companies of any size to manage, organize and share all of their business information on demand."

With AppExchange, a salesforce.com customer can access a broad network of services, apps, productivity tools and components--encompassing everything from CRM-related solutions to apps for finance and human resources to industry-specific solutions, according to the company.

Unlimited Edition includes all the features and capabilities of salesforce.com's Enterprise Edition. In addition, it supports unlimited apps, increased storage and customization, a Salesforce Sandbox feature, which is described as a fully replicated production environment, and premium support and administration.
