Google on Monday said its hosted Web analytics service, Google Analytics, is
now free. Formerly known as Urchin from Google, Google Analytics helps businesses
use performance data to improve their online marketing campaigns and Web sites.
The businesses can determine what keywords attract the most visitors, which
e-mail campaigns create more customers and how to design Web pages that hold
people's attention.
Google Analytics can enhance many aspects of online marketing such as selecting
and bidding on effective keywords, determining the most relevant offers in e-mail
campaigns and optimizing Web site design, according to Google.
The service runs on the same computing infrastructure that powers Google.com,
so it can support the traffic demands of any site, the company says. The free
service is available now. For more information, click
