Rogue Wave Software, a division of Quavadx, recently introduced a new version
of its SourcePro C++ software that enables developers to build C++ apps that
can be migrated from one platform to another as a company’s business needs
change.
SourcePro C++ Suite is a set of C++ cross-platform development components—SourcePro
Core, SourcePro Analysis, SourcePro DB and SourcePro Net—that define C++
application programming interfaces, helping developers write code using a common
set of APIs, regardless of operating system or databases.
SourcePro C++ Edition 8 now supports the latest Linux, Windows and Unix operating
systems, including SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
4 (32- and 64-bit Itanium2, EM64T and Opteron), Sun Solaris 10, Hewlett-Packard
HP-UX 11i v2 and IBM AIX 5L 5 v5.3 for Power5 and RS6000 (32 and 64 bit). The
suite is also now compatible with the following compilers: Intel C++ 8.1, Microsoft
Windows 2003 SDK for Itanium 2, IBM XLC++ 7 and Sun Studio 9 and 10. It now
supports IBM DB2 8.2, Informix 2.90, MySQL 4.1x and Sybase ASE 12.5.2 databases.
The software provides file and directory traversal API, RWAny class to hold
any data type, and support C++ namespaces, all in SourcePro Core, a set of C++
components that helps developers create C++ applications that share data with
diverse systems. SourcePro Analysis—C++ components for solving mathematical
problems in business and research—features new random number generators,
and “long long” data type support in SourcePro DB, an object-oriented
interface to Oracle, Sybase, DB2, SQL Server for Windows and Unix, Informix,
MySQL Server and PostgresSQL Server relational databases.
