Java Tool Helps Apps Integrate into Enterprise

UC4 Software recently released software to help companies monitor enterprise job scheduling and data center automation in complex environments.

UC4.Executor for JMX (Java Management Extensions) integrates Java applications into enterprise-wide processes, monitoring and actively controlling J2EE environments. MBeans are included in UC4.Executor for JMX, and drag and drop defines connections between multiple applications for massive amounts of batch processing and enterprise integration. MBeans act as Java wrappers for applications, services, components and devices in distributed networks.

JMX allows developers to build tools for distributed, Web-based products to manage applications, devices and other services. The standard supports all J2EE application servers, such as IBM WebSphere and BEA Systems Weblogic, managing these servers and the applications running on them.

The software features an enterprise job scheduling tool, offering a suite of connection modules for frameworks such as Hewlett-Packard OpenView, IBM Tivoli and BMC Software Patrol.

Enterprise business applications, including SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel and Oracle, integrate into enterprise-wide job scheduling capabilities. Integrating these business applications enables companies—financial, insurance, government, retail, transportation, utilities, education and healthcare—to centrally monitor disparate systems and applications. A standard compliant resource adapter and an API integrate job scheduling capability into custom applications.

According to UC4 Software, other job schedulers need custom libraries to be implemented into all applications, modifying source code. It also claims custom libraries can’t be implemented with third-party applications since there’s no access to the source code.

UC4.Executor for JMX is the latest addition to the UC4: global line, which includes products for J2EE and J2SE.
