Echichna
Thor Heinrichs-Wolpert, consultant with Echichna of Victoria, B.C., Canada, describes the firm as an Oracle-CASE shop that to some extent focuses on document and mapping applications. He recalls that the firm did its first Web-to-database link in December 1994 using CGI. "It was good and it worked well but it was not a clean mechanism," he said. These days Henirchs-Wolpert and crew use three-tiered environments, Oracle Java tools (with which he is pleased), and present data to users through a Java interface. He said clients have found that HTML forms handling is too much like 3270 terminal sessions for users accustomed to client/server computing.
