Managing warehouse performance in Fabric can be confusing for those coming from SQL Server. In this session, we'll discuss what is managed for you and what levers you have available to pull. We'll cover important concepts such as workload isolation, bursting and smoothing, offloading workloads to Direct Lake, and Delta table tricks such as zero-copy table clones. We'll also discuss how to view query and capacity performance related to your warehouse.
You will learn:
- Explain options for warehouse workload isolation
- Explain bursting and smoothing and differences for data loading vs analytics workloads
- Demonstrate other ways to reduce load including using Direct Lake semantic models and table cloning
