Consulting in a good cause

We all know about the devastation caused by the Indian Ocean tsunami. What
you may not know is that a number of people in the .NET development community
have been banding together to offer technical advice and other support to
various relief organizations, particularly Aceh Aid at IDEP. Now
there's a way for you to help out and benefit your own .NET development
efforts at the same time.
Here's the deal: hop on over to eBay and check out The .NET
Celebrity Auction for Aceh Aid at IDEP. 30 of the top .NET consultants have
each put up an hour of their time for this auction. You can use this time for
whatever you like via phone or IM, and the money goes, not to the consultants,
but to Aceh Aid. And when I say "top" I mean "top": this is a very select group
of active writers, speakers, and developers with plenty of names you should
recognize (for biographies, check out Stephen
Forte's WebBlog).
The auction runs until February 2, and right now bids are running at $100 an
hour, which is a serious bargain. If you or your company is having any nagging
.NET issues that need solutions, I urge you to think seriously about
participating in this one.
