Software gives view of development assets

Pittsburgh-based software asset tool provider LogicLibrary recently added an EAI meta data library to the Logidex Asset Center (www.logidexassetcenter.com) that allows users to access RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes (PIPs) for use in integration projects. A PIP defines the activities, decisions and roles required in an online transaction between two supply-chain partners.

"Where [developers] had to find this more or less in book form previously, we [have now] made it an electronic, searchable form," said LogicLibrary CEO Greg Coticchia, who added that the new library is part of an effort to create a lingua franca for B2B commerce.

Key to the new resource, which first went online in March, is how the content is presented.

"Logidex provides the ability to represent business and technical information graphically, and [to] use that information to then search for software development assets," said Brent Carlson, LogicLibrary's vice president of technology. "[It] gives people a view into how RosettaNet is organized, and allows them to quickly find the message interchange formats that RosettaNet specifies as part of its effort to support communication from business to business."

The late April rollout follows the announcement in March of a key partnership with Microsoft, in which LogicLibrary's Logidex .NET Library will be hosted on the Microsoft Developer Network as part of an integration with the Visual Studio .NET integrated development environment.
