iTKO Enhances SOA Test Solution With LISA 4.5

iTKO announced the release of its LISA 4.5 testing solution for service oriented architectures (SOAs) last month at the Gartner AADI (Application Architecture Development and Integration) Summit in Orlando, Fla. The updated LISA tool aims at minimizing business risk by providing a safe environment to test changes to an SOA before rolling out services.

LISA 4.5's new functionality includes service virtualization for load/performance testing. Its "Virtual Services Environment" supports behavior virtualization of enterprise application components throughout the software lifecycle. The simulation of architectural dependencies can take place at rates exceeding 2,500 transactions per second per CPU, according to the company.

Another feature of Lisa 4.5 is user interface layer testing, designed to better handle the demands of rich Internet applications. LISA 4.5 now supports Adobe Flash and Flex plus Microsoft's ActiveX in addition to HTML, AJAX, Swing, AWT, DOM and other presentation technologies.

iTKO improved LISA's usability, adding new step assertion, creation and filter wizards with context-sensitive help. The company also improved the product's integration with HP QualityCenter and Mercury TestManager.

Native support for leading integration vendor platforms has been enhanced in response to customer demand for better management. LISA 4.5 now has improved interaction with frameworks such as CA Wily, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli and Tibco Hawk.

"These enhancements deliver improved usability, integration platform support, and Service Virtualization capabilities for load and performance testing," stated Shridhar Mittal, iTKO's CEO, in a prepared statement. "We believe our customers will want to upgrade rapidly to achieve increased quality and agility throughout the lifecycle of their critical applications."
